HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

As an interim screen post-mode selection and pre-confirmation, the Offer Details page intends to provide riders with insights into their selected Lyft mode, reinforcing their confidence and clarifying the fare value. However, the current design suffers from low visibility and an unclear value prop.

This project focused on a redesign of Lyft's Offer Details page, and ensuring its seamless integration into Lyft's recent Rider App Redesign, launched in Summer '24, and secondarily exploring different surfacing frameworks to maximize functionality. As the solo designer on this project, I was able to take full ownership from project scoping, iteration to UXR, while collaborating closely with other designers, researchers and engineers to understand relevant constraints and refine designs.

WHAT I LEARNED

🪞 Reflections, Learnings, Takeaways

1. Getting visibility on ideas early!

As a bit of a perfectionist, I typically enjoy fully flushing out ideas before bringing them to the table; however, within a fast-paced corporate environment, I realized how important it is to get visibility and awareness on my work early. Through talking to different colleagues and gaining awareness of constraints, previous solutions, and relevant insights, I learned to avoid going down unnecessary rabbit holes and ensure that my ideas were well-informed and aligned with the overall goals.

2. Not getting lost in the details

One lesson that stood out to me was the significance of not getting lost in the minutiae of design but rather thinking about the bigger picture. By focusing on the broader objectives and considering the holistic impact of my designs, I was able to create more impactful and user-centric solutions.

3. How much there is left to learn!

Even after 12 weeks, I feel like I'd barely scratched the surface of the world of rideshare and how to design for Lyft riders. There's so much nuance in the field of design across different domains of work, and I'm so excited to continue growing my expertise and experience throughout my career!
